Fire Interruption Technology Knocks Down Trailer Fire in Wisconsin
Pine Lake, WI
April 2009
Just a few days after receiving their Fire Interruption Technology device, the Pine Lake Fire Department used it to knock down a trailer fire and save it from total loss.
First responders from the Stella Fire Department and the Pine Lake Fire Department were dispatched once the homeowner’s son called 9-1-1 after he smelled smoke and saw flames in the bedroom.
Once on the scene Fire Chief of the Pine Lake Fire Department, Brian Gerhig, deployed Ara's device thru a vented window adjacent to the room of origin.
“It was just amazing. Within 15 seconds the fire was completely knocked down. We used only 100 gallons of water to overhaul the little remaining hot spots.” Said Pine Lake Fire Department Assistant Chief, Rick Zelechowski. “Had we not had [Ara's device], the trailer would have been a complete loss.”
The Pine Lake Fire Department is currently equipped with two Fire Interruption Technology devices and is looking to add the technology to the rest of their vehicles and apparatus.
