Ara Safety's Fire Interruption Technology Saves House and RV in Frozen Northern Weather
LEDUC, ALBERTA
January 2008
When Leduc firefighters arrived on the scene of a house fire just outside of Edmonton, Alberta, they found the -56ºF (-49ºC) weather had frozen the nearest hydrants. With the burning house already fully involved, and the fire impinging on a neighboring RV and house, Troy Mutch made the decision to deploy the Fire Interruption Technology device to buy time for a relay truck to arrive.
The fire was pulled back into the house for almost fifteen minutes, enough time for the relay truck to arrive and overhaul the fire. According to Mutch, if the fire had been allowed to burn freely for those 15 minutes, the neighboring house and the RV would have become involved and seriously damaged. With the deployment of Ara's device, neither suffered any damage.
