Ara Safety's Device Knocks Down Attic Fire in New Jersey Home
West Milford, New Jersey
October 2008
When Jefferson Township firefighters arrived to smoke billowing out of an attached garage attic on October 1, they knew it was only a matter of minutes before the flames engulfed the main body of the home. Firefighter Randy Davis decided to deploy the Fire Interruption Technology device. Within seconds the fire was suppressed and the temperature drastically reduced.
"The fire in the attic was extremely hot and crackling" said Randy Davis , a veteran firefighter with 34 years' experience in the fire service. Firefighter Davis admitted that there is always some doubt about using new products, but after seeing the device in action, he's a believer. Fire Interruption Technology saved the home from tremendous amount of damage.
The responding crew only used 50 gallons of water to fully extinguish the hot spots in the attic. The department estimates, that had Ara's device not been used, thousands of gallons of water would have been required, resulting in significant secondary damage.
