Fire Interruption Technology Saves 4-Unit Apartment Dwelling in Alberta
High River, Alberta
September 2008
The High River Volunteer Fire Department became one of the first fire departments in Alberta to use Ara Safety's Fire Interruption Technology, during a 4-unit apartment fire.
Upon deployment of Ara's device into the dwelling, the fire was immediately suppressed, saving the other remaining 3 units from fire damage. “We were amazed with [Fire Interruption Technology] ", High River Deputy Fire Chief, Trevor Allan, said of the deployment. “The temperature inside the structure was decreased from an estimated 900-1000 degrees to 300-400 degrees within seconds of deployment".
The High River Volunteer Fire Department received their Fire Interruption Technology device as a result of their involvement with The Fire Within. “Through The Fire Within supplying us with [Ara's device], we were able to deploy it at a working structure fire. [Fire Interruption Technology] knocked down and contained the fire within seconds, saving the building and decreasing other fire or water damages that would have occurred had this device not been available".
