Fire Interruption Technology Contains 3-Car Garage Fire and Prevents Damage to Residence
Upper Saddle River, New Jersey
July 2009
The Upper Saddle River Fire Department used their Ara Safety Pro devices to save a mansion from significant amount of damage after a vintage car in its 3-car garage caught fire.
Once on scene, first responders deployed one Ara Safety Pro unit through an open garage door. “Two of the three overhead garage doors were open when the first Ara Safety Pro unit was tossed in; it knocked the fire almost completely down”, said Fire Chief Erik Vierheilig. Since the Fire Interruption aerosol was able to ventilate through the open garage doors, the fire began to start up about a minute after the deployment.
A second unit was deployed to help further contain the fire and buy time until firefighting units arrived on scene. Even though Fire Interruption was allowed to escape, it still helped contain fire to the garage and prevent its spread. “The Ara Safety Pro contained the fire and helped limit smoke and fire damage to the exterior of the structure and prevented damage to the interior of the residence”, said Chief Vierheilig.
This was the first Ara Safety Pro deployment by the Upper Saddle River Fire Department.

Ara Safety Pro helped contain a vehicle fire to the 3-car garage, leaving the residence untouched, and limiting damage to the exterior of the home.
